Yorkshire Oracy Hub

Led by Abbey Trust, the Yorkshire Oracy Hub will be a collaborative professional network bringing together schools at every stage of their oracy journey across Yorkshire.

Rooted in the expertise of Oracy Centres of Excellence (OCE) within and beyond the Abbey Trust, the hub will provide inclusive, high-quality professional development through sharing best practice and facilitating professional dialogue, fostering oracy practice, innovation and contributing to improving the quality of education and life chances of young people across the region.  

Core Principles

Open access: free for all Yorkshire schools in the first year
Inclusive: suitable for all levels of experience
Evidence-informed: grounded in best practice from the Yorkshire network of OCEs
Collaborative: drawing on expertise across the region
Practical: focused on implementation, not just theory
Pupil centred: Facilitate pupil enrichment opportunities centred around voice

Proposed Structure: Half-termly virtual hub meetings & Annual face-to-face gathering.
